ABOUT ME

Emma Ruzius a student, outdoor enthusiast, and believer of retail therapy.

Hello, my name is Emma Ruzius and I am a lost 20 year old college student with a new found passion for thrifting.

Growing up in sunny San Luis Obispo, I spent most of my time outside of school participating in sports, practicing dance, and surrounding myself with friends as often as possible. I had always had something, a skill or activity, that I was confident in calling my passion. Dance and soccer were the two things that made me feel apart of something bigger than myself and they provided me with this confidence and drive to work harder and do more. As time passed, the anxieties of life, school, and a global pandemic seemed to take over and I found myself somewhat passionless with no activities or goals. This was when I first found an in to the world of thrifting and sparked my initial interest. Living in Santa Barbara with my new city girl roommate Landy, I was introduced to a whole new world of retail therapy that wouldn’t break my bank account all the while keeping clothes out of landfills, reducing the carbon and chemical pollution caused by clothing production, as well as lowering water consumption in a world threatened by climate change. Once familiarized with the ins and outs and the dos and don’ts of thrift stores, boutiques, and places like the Goodwill Bins, I began accumulating a large sum of fashionable clothing and a passion for giving these discarded items a new home. I want to share this passion with the rest of the world through a trading post of my own. My goal is to develop a business that can allow others feel confident in their style, as well as help lead a sustainable business that can help reduce the carbon and chemical pollution of large scale clothing production.
